Frequently Asked Questions
When should I book you for my wedding?

I recommend reaching out as soon as possible! I typically book 6–12 months in advance, and dates are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. If my calendar isn’t open for your date just yet, I’ll add you to the waitlist and reach out as soon as booking opens. Your dream hair day is worth planning ahead for!

What if I don't have a set wedding date yet, can I still book you now?

I totally get it—sometimes the date isn’t locked down right away! To officially book, I’ll need an exact wedding date to ensure I’m available just for you. But if you have a general month in mind, please reach out! I can check my availability for that time and help you plan ahead so you don’t miss out!

How do I book you for my event?

Simply fill out the inquiry form and keep an eye out for an email from me! If I’m available for your date, I’ll get back to you to discuss all the fun details about your wedding day. To officially reserve your spot, I require a signed contract and a deposit. Please allow 48–72 hours for email responses—I’m excited to connect with you!

Do I really need a trial?

Yes, trials are mandatory—and here’s why they’re absolutely worth it! It’s our chance to connect, get to know your hair type, and create a look that feels like you. Plus, you get to see exactly how your hairstyle will look before the big day—no surprises! We’ll have uninterrupted time to explore different styles, try on accessories, and fine-tune every detail so you feel confident walking down the aisle.

When should I book my trial?

I like to schedule trials about 2 months before your wedding day—that’s usually when you have your dress, jewelry, and accessories ready, giving us a clear vision to create your perfect look. But I’m totally flexible if you want to do it sooner! No need to stress about booking your trial—I’ll handle that for you. I’ll reach out around 4 months before your big day to set it up, so you can focus on the fun stuff.

Where will my hair trial take place?

Trials are held at my studio in Centreville, MD. Flexible weekday appointments are always available, limited weekend appointment availability due to wedding bookings.

Do you have a second stylist to bring if I have a large wedding party?

Absolutely! For larger bridal parties, I recommend the Sol Collective package, which includes a second stylist, who’s personally trained by me to ensure consistency, quality, and a smooth, stress-free timeline. This allows us to stay on schedule without sacrificing the elevated experience, or your beauty sleep!

Do you travel to me on the day of the event?

Absolutely! Whether you plan to get ready at the venue, hotel, or home — I’ll bring my hairstyling magic right to you! Wherever you want to get glam, I’ll be there with everything I need to make sure you and your bridal party look absolutely stunning. All packages include up to 1 hour of travel, additional travel fees may apply depending on the location.

How should I prep my hair for the trial/wedding day?

Your hair should be clean and dry when you arrive! I recommend washing it the day before and blow-drying it with volume. Keep styling products to a minimum—but if you have mousse, go ahead and use it, it's a great primer for the hair!

For curly-haired brides aiming for a smooth look, try blow-drying your hair straight instead of using a flat iron (it’s gentler and works better for styling). If you want to wear your natural curls, I recommend styling your curls as you normally would, with your normal curl products. Just make sure that it is completely dry before it's time to style!

Don’t worry—this and all the prep tips are included in my detailed hair prep guide that I send to all my brides.

How long will it take to get ready on the wedding day?

I schedule 2 hours for the bride’s hair and 1 hour per attendant, plus 30 minutes for touch-ups at the end. So for example, for a bride plus 4 attendants, you’re looking at roughly 6½ hours of getting ready time. Keep this in mind when planning your ceremony time — the earlier you need to be ready, the earlier we’ll start!

For larger parties, check out the Sol Collective package, which includes a second stylist to speed things up and make your getting-ready experience smooth and fun.

Do you do makeup?

I specialize in bridal hairstyling, so I don’t do makeup myself. But no worries—I’ve worked with some amazing makeup artists and send all of my brides a vendor recommendation list with fantastic MUAs to choose from. You’ll have plenty of options to complete your bridal look!

Once I book you how will the rest of the process go?

From the moment you book, I’ll be with you every step of the way! I start by gathering all the important details about your wedding to create an estimated timeline for your big day so there's no surprises. If your wedding is months away, I’ll check in a few months before to see if you need anything or have questions—though you’re always welcome to reach out anytime!

About 4 months before your wedding, I’ll contact you to schedule your hair trial. Then, 1 month before the wedding, we’ll review all your wedding day details and timeline to make sure everything is perfect, and I’ll send a reminder for your final invoice.

The week of your wedding, I’ll send your finalized timeline in a handy format you can save on your phone, along with a hair prep guide you can share with your wedding party to ensure everyone’s prepared and questions are answered!

I know first hand that wedding planning is A LOT, so I’m here to make this process as smooth and joyful as possible!

What brand of extensions do you recommend?

I recommend clip-in extensions for most of my brides—especially if you're wearing your hair down or have fine hair and want a extra volume or length. Installation is included in your bridal package, but you’ll need to either supply the extensions yourself or rent from us!

Not sure if you need them? Just ask me! I’ll let you know what’s best for your style.

Clip-in extensions are my fave because I can fully customize the placement to work with your hairstyle. I highly recommend Zala Hair—they even have a virtual assistant to help with color matching!
Use code LISABZALA for $20 off your purchase!

If Zala doesn’t feel like your vibe and you find a more budget-friendly option, that’s totally fine—just make sure to purchase two packs, since more affordable extensions are usually thinner. And always double-check that they’re 100% human hair so I can heat-style them properly!

Can you tell me more about the extension rental service?

Yes! I offer clip-in extension rentals exclusively for my bridal clients through my LBB Extension Rental Service. It’s a great option if you want that extra volume or length for your style without the commitment of purchasing your own set.

All rental extensions are 100% human hair, sanitized, and styled just like your own. I’ll bring them on the day of your trial so we can color match and try them out with your desired look. If you love how they look (and you will!), I’ll reserve them for your wedding day.

Extension rental details will be sent to you when we book your trial. It’s a super easy, budget-friendly way to elevate your look—no stress, no guesswork, just gorgeous hair!
